The treatment does not cause complications, as hyaluronic acid, which is used to enhance the lips, is a substance naturally found in the human body. Immediately after the application of the filler, the lips may be tender and red, but these symptoms should subside by the following day. Small bruises may also appear.
The final result will be visible two weeks after the procedure, once the hyaluronic acid binds with water and settles into the tissues.

Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, used in treatments such as mesotherapy, degrades relatively quickly.
