Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation treatment developed by Mesoestetic, particularly effective in reducing skin discoloration such as melasma, age spots, post-acne marks, and other forms of hyperpigmentation.
The treatment works by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which plays a key role in melanin production. Cosmelan is widely appreciated for its high effectiveness and relatively fast results. The treatment consists of two phases.
In the first phase (Cosmelan 1), a specialist prepares the skin and applies a professional depigmenting mask. In the second phase (Cosmelan 2), the patient follows a home care routine using a specially formulated cream, according to the provided guidelines.
Initial results can be seen as early as one week after starting the treatment, with significant improvement in skin tone visible after one month.

We recommend the Cosmelan treatment especially for individuals struggling with:
Both younger and mature clients can benefit from this treatment. The therapy should be preceded by a professional consultation, during which the cosmetologist will assess the skin’s condition and provide a personalized treatment plan.
STEP I: Makeup removal
STEP II: Skin degreasing
STEP III: Application of a high-strength depigmenting mask
STEP IV: Mask removal at home by the patient after approximately 6 hours
STEP V: Skin protection from UV exposure – application of SPF 50
The Cosmelan method effectively reduces pigmentation by diminishing the intensity of dark spots and improving overall skin texture. As a result, the complexion becomes more even and the skin appears smoother. The treatment also enhances the skin’s radiance and nourishment. Additionally, Cosmelan helps regulate melanin overproduction, preventing the recurrence of discoloration.
After removing the mask, the patient begins using the Cosmelan 2 cream at home. This cream continues the depigmentation process and enhances the effects of the Cosmelan 1 mask. Initially, it is applied twice daily, with the frequency gradually reduced according to the specialist’s recommendations.
In addition to Cosmelan 2, patients should use soothing and hydrating products to support skin regeneration, as well as high-protection sunscreen (SPF 50+) to shield the skin from UV radiation.
The Cosmelan treatment is not suitable for individuals with active skin infections, such as herpes. It is also not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
This procedure should be avoided by individuals prone to keloid formation, those undergoing cancer treatment, people with uncontrolled diabetes, and anyone allergic to the active ingredients in the product.

The Cosmelan treatment can be performed at any time of the year. However, for individuals prone to pigmentation, we recommend undergoing the treatment before the summer season as a highly effective preventive measure.
The treatment is generally well-tolerated and comfortable, although applying the mask may cause a mild itching or tingling sensation.
The at-home treatment should begin 7 days after the mask is removed.
With proper skincare and consistent UV protection, the results can be long-lasting. Recurrence of pigmentation usually occurs in individuals who discontinue treatment prematurely or when new pigmentation develops due to different underlying causes.
In the first few hours after the procedure, the skin may appear red and slightly swollen. This is followed by peeling, which is a normal part of the healing process and will resolve on its own.
